Real Life Project Management

Description

Curious about project management - but not sure where to start? Designed for beginners and those looking to grow into a project management role, this course brings the fundamentals to life through real-world examples and practical tools you can apply right away.

This overview session introduces the fundamentals of project management following the full project lifecycle from initiation and planning through design, construction/execution, commissioning, and closeout. Participants will be introduced to processes and tools for defining scope and deliverables, developing schedules, estimating and controlling costs, managing risk and change, ensuring quality and safety, coordinating stakeholders and communications, and overseeing procurement and contracts. Participants will explore how these elements connect across each phase to support predictable outcomes and they will gain a sense of whether project management aligns with their goals.

Built by experienced project managers and leaders from the local construction community, this course is grounded in real projects and practical insights that reflect the role as it truly is. True to Real Life Project Management, it’s training that reflects the job as it is—not just how it looks on paper.
